4 Benefits Of Tongue Scraping.

So I had heard about tongue scraping while I was researching on which electric toothbrush is best for sensitive teeth. Don’t ask me how I ended up on this but it got me intrigued.

After reading a number of articles and a step by step YouTube video, I gave in and purchased not one but two scrapers one for myself and the other for my better half. I mean if I was going to venture down the path of Ayurvedic alternative health tools might as well have a companion with me.

I purchased the scarper’s from Amazon, they are shaped as a U and have a plastic grip on either end in order to have a strong grip when pulling along the tongue. A process that removes bacteria from the tongue.

You have to remember that whilst brushing your teeth twice a day is something we are taught at a very young age. Scarping your tongue is not, therefore it is important to get rid of all those years of build up of food and drink on your tongue.

Its recommended to use the tool twice a day after brushing your teeth – am and pm.

The benefits include the following:

  • Improve your sense of taste – Researchers have confirmed that scraping your tongue twice a day can substantially improve your taste buds.
  • Improve the appearance of your tongue – Bye bye that unsightly white layer on your tongue.
  • Reduce bad breathe – Researchers in one 2004 study found that scraping was more effective than brushing at removing odour-causing bacteria.
  • Improve overall health – Removing the bacteria is key to maintaining good oral health and fighting gum disease.

I have been using the scrapers for now 6 months and I have not only discovered my pink tongue (which is by the way what your tongue should look like) but my gums feels healthier and stronger. I also noticed that certain things like citrus fruits taste slightly more tangy. I am happy with the results and cant recommend it enough.

Have any of you heard or tried this tool? If so, please do share on the comments section below.

XOXO
